new threads...

mommy says it's what's on the inside that counts. but if you have to wear clothes, you may as well wear cute ones! my "aunt" ashley holloway apparently agrees because she bought me the cutest outfit and i wore it today - and i didn't even spit up on it! i haven't had a chance to meet ashley yet, but i like her already. :)

so... i'm getting better at sleeping at night - yahoo! the other night i actually slept for 10 hours straight! mommy thought maybe i climbed out the window in my room, but i didn't. typically i wake up about two times in the middle of the night, but i'm getting used to sleeping in my crib and staying asleep a little longer at night. i still am pretty much a disaster at taking naps during the day, but i'm going to try really hard to grow out of that soon. :)

i like being on my tummy for longer periods of time now, although i don't really like to stay put there. it seems to me that the only reason for someone to be on his tummy is so that he can crawl forward, and so i keep trying to do that but am not strong enough yet. but i sure am trying! i'm able to lift my whole middle off the ground, but that's as far as i've gotten. i'll keep you posted on how my crawling efforts are going. maybe i'll set a baby record.

another thing i really like doing is laughing. mommy and daddy can really get me going! i'm not even sure whath i'm laughing at, but it sure is hilarious! my mommy is so glad i smile and laugh a lot now because all i did for the first 6 weeks of my life was scowl and look serious and she was worried that i wouldn't fit in with my silly family. but i appear to have gotten their silly genes, and so now we're all silly together. okay, that's all to report for now. here are some pictures of my outfit and just another one of me. bye!

three months old!

hello! i can't believe it's friday already! shwew - my how the time flies when you're having fun - and i sure am! :) we've been up to our usual stuff and things are going great! my aunt mandy came over to visit the other day. i really like her. i also really like chewing on my hands. here's me chewing on my hands while being held by her - what a great life!

it's getting really hot here in texas and mommy and i are still going on walks a lot, but i wish i was old enough to swim in a pool! i do like taking baths a lot, though, so i bet i'll like swimming too. i know my cousins do (lauren, taylor, and gabrielle)! i miss them very much. taylor is three and three quarters and she calls me jenjamin. :)

i'm already three months old now and i'm growing so much, as you can see from the pictures! i still don't really have much hair, but that's okay because my mommy and daddy say my head has a very nice shape to it. my eyes are still mostly blue, although they are getting a few streaks of hazel, like my dad's. um... i still like to eat and i love laying on my back and playing with toys dangling above me and listening to music. and i like to go outside and look around at things around me. since i've been spending more time on my tummy, i'm getting used to that more and enjoy looking at things from that perspective. i see lots of specks on the carpet and mommy should probably vacuum more often, but she puts me on fun blankets so i don't get dirty, and i think she is having too much fun playing with me to vacuum. :) here's a picture of me on my tummy, and there's another one of me in my carseat chewing on my hands again. like i said, i really enjoy that. and those links are one of my favorite things to play with too.

okay, that's all. bye!

over the river and through the woods...

...to grammy pam's house we go! or actually, we went! mommy and daddy and i made our second trip to grandpa and grammy pam's house last weekend, and it was so much fun! i was a pretty good boy and really loved playing with them. they are so good at holding me and loving me, and they have a really neat play pad that i had fun exploring! i also got to show off my rolling over tricks some more, and they were pretty impressed. somehow i have forgotten how to roll over from my stomach to my back, though, so mommy and daddy are still working with me on that one. but i sure do love rolling over from my back to my tummy! i also really like to play with things in my hands and to kick things that make noise. but anyway, back to our trip... they live about two hours away and i slept the whole time there and back. i also did okay taking naps but mommy still has to take me on stroller rides to get me to sleep. maybe one of these days i'll actually fall asleep on my own. HA! here are some pictures from our weekend... p.s. - i realize i may not look all that thrilled in this first one, but i promise i was! i was smiling so much the rest of the weekend that my face hurt and i needed a break. :)

rolling, rolling, rolling...

i'm really missing my beamee and grampee already, but i'm trying to keep myself busy by rolling over a lot! my mommy is already having to re-think where she sets me down because i can't really be on the bed by myself anymore and if i'm on the floor in one room, i may just end up in another room before she knows it! okay, okay, so i'm not that good at it yet, but i am entertaining my parents quite a bit with this new trick. i love to roll on my tummy, but once i get there, i don't like that position very much. and sometimes i still need helping getting back onto my back, but then once i'm there i just roll over again! so that's what me and mommy have been doing pretty much all day. :) and eating - don't forget about eating!

this week my great aunt chris is visiting from washington d.c., so i'm really excited to see her again. she's funny and really good at holding me. and then this weekend i'm off to see my grammy and grandpa and even meet a few new people from my daddy's family! so that will be fun and i'm looking forward to it a lot. speaking of grandpa, i forgot to tell you that he made me a really neat bookshelf for my room! it matches my furniture and stores all my books and most of my toys and stuff like that. here's a picture. and that's all for now. bye!

a special visit...

whoa - sorry that it's been so long since my last update! last week we were busy getting ready for our special visitors and then over the weekend we were having a great time with beamee and grampee!! i remembered them from when i was first born and was so glad to see them again - it had been way too long and i have grown a LOT since then! i had so much fun with them... on saturday we celebrated beamee's birthday, hung out at our house, played together (including euchre!), drove around to look at wildflowers, and ROLLED OVER!! that's right - i'm rolling over now. actually, i first rolled over on friday with mommy - from my tummy to my back. then on saturday, grampee was working with me and i rolled over from my back to my tummy! i pretty much am a ham, so i had to do some cool tricks while they were here. plus that grampee is really good at coaching me. on sunday we went to church and went to the lake (lake travis) and went to rudy's for lunch, of course. :) then on monday we got to hang out some more! we went shopping and just enjoyed our time together before they had to go back to indiana. all in all, it was an awesome weekend, and i am already missing them! i will keep working on rolling over and maybe i'll be able to do it all at once pretty soon! here are some pictures from their visit...

looking forward...

so... i'm very, very excited this week because my Beamee and Grampee are coming to visit on friday! i haven't seen them since when i was first born, and there was quite a lot going on then, so i'm really looking forward to getting them all to myself and showing off how i can "stand" and hold my head up and smile and lots of other fun stuff. this saturday is beamee's birthday - i think she's going to be 49 - and so we'll celebrate that, plus just hang out and play together. i am helping mommy clean the house this week to get ready, but mostly i just want it to be friday already! :)

we had a good weekend and just did our usual stuff. daddy worked really hard around the house - mowing and caulking and stuff like that. i saw some of my friends at church and mostly was a good boy. we didn't see the dwights this weekend (sniffle) but i bet we'll see them again really soon. we like to hang out with them a lot and i think it's so neat that they live right here in austin too! the dwights are relatives from my mommy's family - aunt debbie, uncle don, jessica, and austin - they are very cool. last weekend we ate burgers with them and aunt debbie is really good at holding me. hopefully they'll get to babysit me soon and mommy and daddy can go on a date again! we'll see... :)

okay, that's all for now. i have to go clean my room and stuff like that. it's beautiful and sunny and hot here too - hope it stays that way for the weekend!! bye...

eyelashes...

as you can tell, my hair and eyebrows are pretty light and sparse. but check out my eyelashes! i had only a few when i was first born, and they gradually started growing in within the first few weeks, but they were very light and fine too. but now it seems like we woke up one day and they were suddenly dark and long! mom even says she is almost jealous of them and that lots of women wear make-up to get theirs to look like this. i'm not sure i really want girly eyelashes, but mom says they make me look handsome, so i guess they're okay. and my eyes are still mostly dark blue, but they're starting to get some hazel and brown streaks in them, so we'll have to wait and see what color they end up to be!

that's all for now. i haven't been the best napper or sleeper these past few days, so i better go try and take a nap... and tomorrow i go to the doctor for a check-up so we'll be sure to report any exciting news from that. i'm growing a lot and my stomach is getting big because i just love to eat and eat! and i'm definitely getting longer because even though i'm only 2 1/2 months old, i am wearing 3-6 month clothes because i'm too long for 0-3 month already! so we'll see what the doc has to say about all that... bye!
