our new home...

hello again! and first, a disclaimer: this is not a proper post with proper pictures of our new home. it is just a tide-you-over with a few pictures to last until momma gets some really good ones of us around here. that being said... we are here in our new home and really liking it so far. :) here is my favorite part - the backyard!!

and before we get much further, momma wanted to post a few pictures of us on moving day at the old house. here is how daddy found me waiting in my room that morning...

and here i am eating my last breakfast there...

we do miss our old house and enjoyed our time there as a family. i will even post once more with a few close-out pictures of luke and i there (from february - eek!). but it's really hard not to love this place too... this is what i get to do everyday!! (while momma looks on and wonders when i got big enough to swing on my own like this!)...

and this is what luke gets to do everyday... the first two days we were here, he was still just rolling around and only crawling backwards, so he ended up under his crib quite a bit. luckily in this particular case he had his blankie to keep him company and so wasn't too bothered by it...

and then last thursday he *finally* starting crawling forward, on hands and knees, after all this time! so now he can get around the new house on his own and go mostly anywhere he likes. and sometimes he just likes to lounge around (on our new wood floors - yea!)...

it's pretty laid-back here. we are in a more rural area than we were in austin. we're still close enough to things (target and starbucks just up the road, shwew!), but there is a little bit of that "country" feel here. i'm even allowed to hang around in my diaper! (oh wait, i did that at the old house too... and no comments about me still being in diapers!)...

maybe we'll post a proper "house tour" later, but for the meantime, luke and i spend a lot of time outside, but when we're inside, we like the living room because it has a great view of the outside (although we need to get the windows washed - yikes!)...

as you can see above, luke is able to stand up and hold onto things a bit, but he's still not quite that good at it yet. momma caught him in action plopping down...

and then being a little pouty about it! (he was a super laid-back baby, but as he's getting older, he's having a bit more of an opinion about things and shows his reaction to things much more often and intensely than he had in the past...)

he's a momma's boy - crawling over to her feet so she'll pick him up. momma made me post all this just to secretly show off the new floor some more! :)

pictures of me, not at all essential to the plot...

um yes, luke - do you have a question?

luke wants to know when we're going to get some visitors! if you come see us, here is your room and the new bed you get to sleep on! the filing cabinet will be removed. currently taking votes on the wall color. :)

mimsie and grandpa are actually coming to see us this weekend - yahoo!!!!!!!! we are SO excited about that. and we know that uncle jeremie is likely to be coming over soon too - double yahoo! but when luke heard that it may be awhile until people from the lehman side get to come visit, he was not pleased...

like i said, he shows his reactions much more instensely now. (drama king...)

anyway, that's a few pictures for now. we are still unpacking the last remaining boxes - that has kept momma busy nearly every moment since we got here - how did we have so much stuff??!?! augh!! that was depressing. this is a bigger house but momma plans to fill it up less! she used to fit ALL of her belongings into a faded blue mercury topaz when moving across the country and was appalled at how many movers and boxes were required to move our family just 2.5 hours away. we are on a craigslist-selling and goodwill-giving spree. everything is subject to go (save yourself!). we don't need house-warming presents, we just need house-warming people. :) see you soon. and lehmans/donuhues/carrolls - book your tickets now. there will be a prize for the first family to arrive. :) hint - rudy's.
bye!!!!!!!!!!
