good thing you checked the blog today!

hi again! here's what we've been up to lately...

more doughnut face at the grocery store... (more on this at the end of the post)...

i will not smile for this picture...

oops - mama caught me grinning anyway!

we went to a local high school football game a few weekends ago because my cousins play in the band (and we like football, of course!). the game started at 7:30p (my usual bedtime), so this was a special night for me to stay up late! i had a great time, especially hangin' out with daddy...

towards the end of the first half, i have to admit i gradually started losing interest...

and fatigue was just barely starting to set it...

eventually, i actually turned into a zombie!

we came home at halftime, but luckily jessica and austin's school was whoopin' up on the other team, so we were confident in the win. and we got to see them perform in the band (in their cool uniforms!), so the night was a success. i think i'll stick to my early bedtime for a little while longer...
back at home, mommy has been working with me on colors, letters, and numbers. i love to color with crayons and colored pencils as long as there are stickers involved - because i love stickers! i can identify and name several colors all on my own: blue, green, red, yellow, orange, purple, black, white, and sometimes brown and pink! truth be told, i still don't pronounce all my words that well, but you can usually tell what i'm saying. :)
mama gets really excited as i learn new things, so that's fun!

i also love building with duplo blocks. making huge towers is my favorite, and daddy is a great helper...

one of my favorite parts of building a tower...

is crashing it!
and then building it up again, of course! good times...

i also have been working some on using a potty! i find that it's a wonderful place to sit and read...

or just goof around and be silly!

a little privacy please!

sometimes i use it for its intended purpose, but not consistently. i'm not quite ready yet, but mama says i only have a few months to get this thing down and get rid of the diapers (which you'd think i would be in favor of since i still fuss nearly every time i get my diaper changed!). we'll see... at least it's fun to sit on in the meantime...

we've all been busy lately, so i've been doing my part with the weekend chores around the house...

what? can't a kid have a little milk while he vacuums?

this week's bonus faces...

and this was me when mama said we're going to have a baby!!!!!!!! :)

more on this in the next post, but i'm super excited to be a big brother! mama is due in april - yahoo!!! :) (this explains the doughnuts in the grocery store, the busy-ness around here lately, and the diapers threat!) more to come...

oktoberfest...

so you all know how much i love my daddy and i try to be just like him in a lot of ways... i like to put a tiny bit of his gel in my hair, i like anything burnt orange, and i love wearing ties or hats when he does... i got a hold of his "big boy" underwear the other day and thought i'd give them a shot...

i guess i'll stick to my diapers for now, although mommy hopes that potty training is not too far away... (we'll see about that!)...
a few weekends ago, we headed out to fredericksburg, texas, for their annual oktoberfest celebration. i was pretty pumped about it along the way...
once we got there, i actually had a really good time! i had a sausage wrap - yum!...
i really liked it but can't remember why i was making this growly face...
and lots of rain, rain, and rain - which meant lots of playing in puddles! mommy is pretty cool, so she let me play in the mud and get all wet, because it just kept raining so much that, well what else is a little boy to do? :)

funny faces...

and my first ride on an old-fashioned mechanical horse - totally fun!!!! although i wasn't sure at first...

but i was sold in the end!!
okay, that's all for now. bye!! :)

hook 'em...

hello again! well, football season is moving right along and i've become quite a fan of the UT longhorns! actually, if the truth is to be told, i like them just because daddy likes them and i LOVE wearing my longhorn clothes, because that's what daddy wears (a lot of the time). when mommy is getting me dressed, if i see an orange shirt in my closet, i say "dada" and she knows that means i want to wear it! on a somewhat related note, here i am riding in the car the other day (sporting said longhorn shirt), and just being silly...

yet another silly car picture... i love wearing hats and putting all kinds of things on my head!!

the silliness continues... this time i fell off my airplane and was having a giggle fit on the floor...

back to the longhorns again, these are horns that mommy's friend, ashlee, got for daddy's truck. it turns out they look pretty cute on little boys too...

a few weeks ago we had a visit from my cousins, gracie and wyatt, aunt jeri, uncle adam, and uncle jeremie for a big football weekend. here we (the kids) are at the park. not a very exciting picture, but i wanted to include it because we had a fun time - and i especially like uncle jeremie!

since i'm getting to be a big boy, mommy has been letting me help her in the kitchen, and i really like that because i get to help make a mess without getting in trouble! here we are making biscuits on saturday morning...
and here i am helping make - and taste! - apple bread...

also - i got my first (and last) haircut at a kids "salon." mommy has been cutting it all along with a scissors, but it was time for a real cut with clippers. she wanted to watch "the pros" do it first and also wanted someone else to blame in case it went terribly wrong! well, it was pretty much the worst thing that's ever happened to me, so there are no pictures of the haircut itself. and i'll just have her cut it herself from now on. but i did get a good haircut in the midst of all the screaming and crying and it's definitely short in the back now! not sure if you can tell that much from the pictures, but now it's nice and trim, like daddy's! :)

goofy picture...
sometimes we go on family walks in the evenings, and here we are one day. nothing especially significant happened, but mommy took pictures, because that's what she does. and i'm sporting yet another orange shirt, so i thought i would include them... (and mommy said i look silly in these clothes because the shirt is too big and the pants are too short, but she's glad i'm a boy because then none of that even matters!)

playing with the leaves... i actually stopped and did this for at least 10 minutes in this same spot... throwing the leaves off the curb and bending over to pick them up and put them back on the sidewalk again...
ooh! here i am building a tower with duplo blocks! i really like playing with these and am getting pretty good at connecting them all by myself. towers are my favorite thing to build...
this was actually - shocker - during a UT football game - and here's mommy and i having a little kiss... i love her...

um, other things going on: i'm getting pretty good at naming colors! i definitely know and can say red, orange, and blue. i also kind of know yellow and green but can't say them as well. and if i don't know for sure what color something in, i just declare confidently, "red!" and at least i have some chance of being right! i still LOVE to read books, especially the same ones over and over. going to the library is one of my favorite things to do. my collar bone is pretty much healed and i don't even complain about my "neck" anymore! it's been raining like crazy lately, and playing in the puddles is super fun. i'm getting a little better at trying and eating new foods, but i'm still quite moody and will give mommy a hard time about eating every once in a while just for good measure. i love cereal with milk and fruit and cheese and sometimes now i will eat pasta. okay, that's all for now. here are some more pictures of me in my favorite shirt - my longhorns "jacket" with a built-in "hat!" :)
