my new teeth...

mom finally got some proof of my new teeth! pretty cool, huh? :)

our week has been pretty good, even with the teething and all. and i'm really excited about this weekend because we're going to see Mimsie and Grandpa and Aunt Mandy and a bunch of relatives from Mimsie's family. there are even some people i haven't met yet, so that will be a lot of fun! (p.s. Mimsie is daddy's mom. she used to be Grammy Pam, but now she's Mimsie.)

otherwise, i've just been up to my usual stuff. of course i'm still chewing on everything...

and i'm still upset that i can't crawl yet...

i try and try and try, but i just can't figure it out quite yet. this is probably a good thing because daddy has not baby-proofed the house yet and mommy knows i'm going to be hard to keep up with once i'm mobile. so, i guess it can wait a little longer... i helped mommy run some errands this week, which i'm always quite good at. i still enjoy shrieking and squeeling a lot, though, and so sometimes we get strange looks when we're out in public. mommy assures people i'm normal, but it looks like some of them don't believe her. since i can't really talk yet, i just like to get my 2 cents in, you know?

okay, that's all for now... bye!

5 months and 2 teeth...

hi everyone! sorry i haven't written in a while - i've been busy teething! yep, that's right! one tooth came through last wednesday, and another came on saturday - both on the bottom in the middle. yahoo!

i heard that teeth can hurt a lot while they are coming in, and they do, but i'm handling it so well. mommy is so proud of me! they don't bother me too much if i'm playing or rolling around, but every once in a while i fuss a bit and then i chew on something cold and i'm okay. or if it gets too bad, i just roll over onto my side and suck my thumb.

that's pretty much my routine when i'm tired or cranky, and then mommy puts me in my crib for a nap, and i wake up happy again! life is good. :) so anyway, that's what i've been up to lately. i think i'm just going to have 2 teeth for now, but daddy says i'll be able to eat steak and cheeseburgers before too long! and i'm no genius or anything, but i think i'll need a few more teeth before that happens... mommy tried to get a picture of them, but i decided to bite her instead. see! i pretty much love to bite everything, though, so mommy knows to not take it personal. :)

otherwise, i'm five months old now and just as happy as can be. mommy also says i'm the cutest baby God every made, but i don't want to brag... :) she could be biased, but daddy thinks it's true too, so it probably is. okay, that's all. bye!

a father's day tradition...

hi! let me start off by first saying that mommy is against me watching t.v. and even though i'm really attracted to the vivid, colorful screen and images, she does not normally let me watch t.v. and really doesn't even like it being on in the background because i'm drawn to it so much and stop doing other things to explore my world (like chewing, scratching, and slobbering on things). that being said, the final day of the U.S. Open golf tournament was on yesterday, Father's Day, and daddy really likes to watch golf and has been waiting his whole life to have a son to watch the U.S. Open with, and so, therefore, I got to watch t.v. with daddy yesterday! and although some may think that golf is a tad, shall we say, boring to watch, i have to disagree. i actually like it quite a bit, especially Tiger Woods!

long story short, it was an exciting day of golf and Tiger was hurt but still making a run for it. i was really nervous about his knee and just didn't know if he could pull it off...

but he didn't disappoint and came in with a birdie on the last hole to tie Rocco and force a playoff! woohoo! daddy and i couldn't believe it... except it was Tiger Woods, so we could believe it... he's the greatest golfer of this or any generation - hurt knee and all.

the only bad thing is that the playoff is today and they have to play a full round again, and daddy is at work, and mommy says we have to go to the grocery store and target, so i probably won't get to watch it again today, but it sure was special watching it yesterday with daddy! we had a great father's day. i love him so much, and not just because we got to watch t.v. together. he's really nice and smells good and he's my favorite daddy i've ever had. love you daddy! :)

p.s. mommy actually really likes watching golf too, especially Tiger, and i bet she and i will get to watch it a little bit this afternoon... that's better than doing the dishes any day! :)

there's more than corn in indiana...

well, i not only survived my first plane ride and trip to another state - i loved every minute of it! we had such a great time visiting my family in indiana, and i miss everyone already. here are some pictures, starting with the airplane ride. mommy and daddy were kind of worried about whether or not i would like it, but what's not to like? the view was so pretty, and i was such a good boy on all of our flights - maybe i will be a pilot like uncle scott. :)

once we got to indiana, i played with lauren and taylor a lot. i like them so much, as you can see! even though they weren't so sure about having a boy cousin around, i think they liked me a lot too. and i can't wait to see my cousin gabbee again next month at the beach! we tried not to have any fun without her, but it sure was hard. but i think these girls are all right...

i also got to meet lots of mommy's friends - they are pretty cool too. i wasn't so sure at first because there were a lot of people to see, but every one was really nice to me and held me real good, so i had a great time. thanks to everyone for coming to see me! can't wait until next time...

now it's back to mommy and me at home. :) today we met daddy for lunch, because i miss him real bad during the day. and this weekend grandpa and mimsie are coming to visit - yea! until next time...

we got a pool!

it's officially a sauna in austin, texas, and i'm barely able to be outside without turning into a liquid within minutes. however, mommy and i like to be outside a lot, and therefore, we bought a pool. a pool? yes, a pool. by "pool", though, i clearly mean a large plastic basin that can be used to hold a small amount of water and 1.5 people. but hey - it's a start, right? it was mommy's idea, and quite frankly, i'm not so sure how i feel about it yet. take a look...

okay, are you done laughing yet? mommy didn't want me to post the pictures on here because she said we are only 2 broken-down cars in our front yard away from being white trash. and granted, i'm not entirely sure what that means, but this next picture gives me a pretty good idea...

mommy also wanted me to say that daddy only had 1 beer and it really wasn't as bad as it looks... okay, it was exactly as it looks, but honestly, it's 101 degrees here, and a real pool is not an option, so this seemed like the next best thing until i'm old enough for a slip'n'slide. what can ya do? :)

p.s. - mommy wanted me to assure you that there are exactly 0 broken-down cars in our front yard.

p.p.s. - turns out we did get a decent picture from memorial day of me and 2 cousins - check us out.

bye!! :)
