spring is here again (finally!)...

i don't know what happened to global warming but it's actually been cold here again! we've had a few days so far of really nice, warm weather, but we've still been having really chilly days too and not much shorts-wearing... but, i know spring is here because 1) it's still light outside when mom makes me go to bed, and 2) we took our wagon to the park for a picnic lunch!

and i am starting to really like swinging on a big swing (both on my bottom and on my tummy!)...

here are a couple silly pictures of me in the car, which momma always likes to take (especially since she almost always rides in the back with me, at my request, although i guess that won't last long once the baby comes!)...

still sporting the blue sunglasses from TWO summers ago! :)

last week, uncle scott had a long layover in san antonio, so daddy played hookie from work and we got to hang out with him for the day! that was super fun, although i did wonder where aunt elaina, lauren, and taylor were...

we got to ride a bus around town a bit, which of course, i loved!

and here's a picture of me being very serious and somber while eating my first (tiny) bag of candy from a candy store in the mall. i got to help pick out a few favorite treats, which i thought was super cool (not that the picture would reflect that, however)...

and also last week on friday we went to the county fair! technically, it was the austin rodeo, but i have a book about the county fair that i like to read a lot, so that's what we called it. it was pretty fun! we went to a petting zoo, which i actually wasn't so sure about, and we got to watch a cow being milked! we saw quite a few animals and also ate a lot of yummy food! momma's favorite was a deep-fried pineapple (yes, she ate something deep fried, but she thought it wasn't too bad since it was a piece of fresh fruit, and she wants everyone to know that it was probably the best deep-fried anything she's ever eaten and you should definitely try one yourself if you are ever presented with the opportunity!). my favorite, however, was the ice cream truck!!! here i am making a bee-line for it (you might note that it's the exact same one that used to come by our house last fall, which i thought was totally cool)...

i also got to sit in a real digger - cool!

and here i am looking under a little bridge for a troll... (honestly, you never know where there might be one lurking, just like in the three billy goats gruff!)...

i also got to ride the carousel, which was definitely my favorite part! this was my second ride on one, and i really think these are cool!

back at home we've been enjoying time in the backyard and just hanging out as a little family. as you may know, daddy likes to golf, and i like to be just like daddy, so he bought me my own special, ben-sized golf club a few weeks ago (i forget if i've mentioned that in a blog yet or not). it is very special, and here i am practicing with daddy a few days ago...

i also like to make silly faces a lot, and here's one that i've been doing lately, where i kind of roll my eyes out to the side... maybe you have to see it in person, but mommy thinks it's pretty hilarious!

i keep talking a lot and am forming new phrases and sentences on my own now. i still have some stubborn streaks, which i would like to point out is clearly not my fault since i got two helpings of stubborn from my parents! but i get an occasional time-out now, and i usually learn my lesson.
i'm a very good eater and love the fresh fruit we're getting more of now. i love books, even though sometimes i only like to look at the pages instead of having momma read. i like to color with crayons, drink from water fountains, go on walks around the neighborhood, and dance. i don't like to ride in my stroller anymore, and i don't like to sit still in the waiting room at momma's doctor appointments. all in all, life is good. i'm not entirely sure about all this baby stuff, but i know mom's belly sure is big so something must be happening in there! i'm supposed to put some pictures up here of her, and i apologize for not really doing that this time, but i really will try to next time. thanks for stopping by!! :)

i like to eat, i like to eat, i like to eat, eat donuts and kolaches...

the title of this blog is set to the tune of the kids song, "i like to eat, i like to eat, i like to eat, eat apples and bananas." sure, apples and bananas are great, but donuts and kolaches are much, much better... :)

okay, these are good - time to get serious!

silly faces...

possible signs of a sugar comatose...

more silly faces...

stay tuned for an update on other goings-on, including a fun visit to mimsie and grandpa's, how we celebrated daddy's birthday, and the silly phrases that come out of my mouth these days! :) bye!

hello, march!

hello again! well, we survived the snow and had a great time playing in it for a whole day! i liked it much better this time (versus my first experience with it at beamee's house over christmas) but i'm ready for warm weather and daily visits to the park now. :)

it had still been a little chilly last week so we kept busy inside dancing and playing on the bed...

and mommy set up a fun tent inside for me to play with!

once i realized it was a giant shark-like fish, i thought for a second that it might eat me! (thankfully, it did not.)

then over the weekend it started to get warmer again and we had some fun outside while daddy grilled and we all played. i still love to swing and i usually can flash a smile (like this one) and mom will push me as much as i wish... :)

but sometimes swinging is very serious business...

and sometimes i just kinda zone out...

but i especially like to work on the buckle, which requires much concentration and tongue-moving...

here are some other pictures of backyard fun...

it's also been pretty warm this week so we've been at the park and just playing around. we also make cookies a lot, and i can spell my name (B-E-N) - i mean, obviously i can spell my name since i can spell all these words that i'm writing here, but i can say the letters of my name out loud and in order, so mom and dad think that's pretty cool. i can also count to 3 consistently and higher numbers depending on my mood and i can sing most of the alphabet song too. but i don't mean to brag - we toddlers really can memorize anything people throw at us, so it's not that amazing. it's just that mommy and i don't have much else to do anyway, so she figured she may as well help me learn a few things so that once the baby comes along i can coast for a while since she'll be busy with him! anyway, mostly i just like to play with cars and trucks and blocks and i've been missing beamee and grampee a lot. but i saw mimsie and grandpa (and maggie dog!) this week and will get to see them again this weekend, so that's pretty cool! i guess that's about all for now. thanks for checking in and i'll try to write again soon! :)
