hi there, it's ben. we're still catching up on pictures and we're only on early january - eep!! apparently i was a little boring around here then, because momma loaded up on a lot of luke pictures. he is pretty cute, though, so i'm hoping you don't mind. apparently he thought i was boring too...
okay, okay, i'm hardly boring! i still keep momma on her toes all the time, and we continue to have fun and learn a lot with our themes/words/letters. i'm getting really good at recognizing what letter different words start with. if you ask me what any word starts with, i can almost always get the answer right!! just don't ask me any hard words like phone, czar, or eulogy. otherwise, i'm pretty good. :)
during our cold spell (which was about six weeks long at the beginning of the year but is thankfully over!!), we did a lot of crafts and puzzles inside. aunt chris gave me this giraffe puzzle a while ago, but i still love it and play with it frequently. the last time we put it together, i also wanted to make grass, a tree, and leaves for it to eat...
i've started using scissors on my own now and am fairly good at making small cuts on regular paper. i can even do it while staring off into space and wagging my tongue (not mom-approved)...
meanwhile, luke continues to survive on cuteness and adorable eyes rather than any meaningful skills whatsoever. his favorite pasttime is - obviously - eating. food is typically preferred, but he's found that blankie will do in a pinch...
actually, he tries to eat blankie pretty much any chance he gets, whether that's in bed while napping or sleeping, or just lounging around during a fussy period. he immediately shoves as much blankie into his mouth as possible, and munches away until he reaches this drunken state of blankiness...
this is luke telling momma, "no photographs, please. i'd like to be alone with my blankie!"
momma forgets what he's looking at in this picture, but she thought it was a cute profile shot and requested that it be included...
i guess luke does have one other skill - growing a mullet. he somehow managed to grow some long, but very sparse and light colored (almost blonde!) hairs at the bottom of his head. as you've been seeing, the top of his head is still nearly bald, but i promise you that a mullet has gradually been developing on my brother and was recently captured in action on the floor of the local b&n play area, while sporting a very mountain-man looking plaid shirt to match (thank you, beamee, super cute by the way, and very handy during those cold weeks!)...
