grandma lehman cookies and some burnt orange for daddy...

hi everyone! okay, so we realize we haven't been updating our blog very often - sorry about that! the weather has been great and we just like to play and run around and don't always take the time to udpate this like we want to. but we'd like to do better so that you can all stay on track with us and see what we're up to, so we're going to try a new approach of shorter but more frequent blogs... here goes...

daddy is gone this weekend at the annual matthys gathering at oktoberfest in fredericksburg. we miss him. he likes us to all wear orange on game days (UT game days, of course!). momma isn't quite the UT fan that daddy is but tries to oblige even though burnt orange is one of her least favorite colors and looks good on almost no one. today we're going to do one better than that and wear the orange plus have a post with all orange... it's going to be a tough game today and the horns need all the team spirit they can get... plus we really love daddy and even though he won't see this post until he gets back, he'll have big smiles then, win or lose!...

here's luke hanging with daddy watching the game last weekend... these pictures don't lie - he's cute, folks, isn't he? even decked out in burnt orange...

and here i am doing some usual living room cooking... momma bakes so much and i like to help her and then do my own baking in the living room. i pretend to put chocolate chips in nearly everything i make. olives too. sometimes both...

and also on the first UT game day this season we made the famous grandma lehman cookies. if you don't know what i'm talking about, i'm so sorry for you. they are totally yummy! they have at least 9 sticks of butter, some flour, 12 cups of sugar, oil too, and loads of frosting. momma's grandma lehman always made them pink. we usually do that too, in honor of her, but on the first game day we decided to go burnt orange. they are pretty messy. i got to eat on the back deck. like i said, yummy...

go horns! and hopefully we'll see you back here again in a couple days... :)
