september sillies...

hi there!  this is sam.  i am five months old now and have a few fun pieces of news to report!  the first one is that i am finally sleeping all the way through the night - wahoo!!  we do use this phrase somewhat loosely, because sometimes i do wake up in the night for a bit, but momma doesn't feed me during the night anymore, which was a huge milestone for both of us!  and i'm pretty good at going back to sleep even if i do wake up, so we're considering it a success at this point.  yea!  i also have learned to stick out my tongue and i spend a good portion of my waking hours doing that (see above).  momma isn't sure what this is about but does find it hilarious that each of us have had our own quirky baby behaviors.

speaking of quirky, ben and i have really become great buds.  there's just something about him that makes me laugh, so i'm laughing, then he's laughing, and then i'm laughing more, and he's laughing more - it's just so fun!  of course i love luke bunches, too, but he's still learning how to be gentle enough with me, and ben and i just have a fun connection right now.  here we are out in the grass with ben being silly and sticking his tongue out like me...

and check this out - - here we are laying together again because ben wanted to get in on some pictures of me that momma was taking the other day.  she took several pictures right in a row and look at how ben and i were making the same faces!!  first some sweet smiles for the camera...

isn't that cool?  or weird?  we have a neat brotherly connection (for now - haha!).  but let's not forget about sweet luke, already getting left out as the middle child (insert pity and sorrow for luke here now...).  he's definitely going through a "terrible two's" patch but his sweetness in between the spells makes up for it, and that face, folks, how can momma be mad at that face for very long?  (she can't...)

anyway, now we just have some random photos of life around here.  this one is ben and luke playing under the playroom bed the other day - this kept them busy for almost an hour!

and here we all are climbing around on daddy while he pretends to be sleeping (this must have been after a hard night before i started sleeping better)...

and let's see, what else...  ben is back in preschool twice a week and is still loving gymnastics.  he starts flag football this weekend so hopefully we'll have some pictures of that next week (yikes).  he's getting better each day with writing his letters, he can read many sight words, and loves music.  luke loves reading books and dancing to music.  he's fond of throwing his dishes and cup at the table, making food in the play kitchen, and practicing football with ben and daddy.  both big boys love the movie chitty chitty bang bang and have watched it several times now!  it's still hot down here so we continue to spend a lot of time outside, checking out bugs and getting dirty.  as for me, i love standing up in the jumperoo, i can produce more boogers than most grown men, and i love my momma.  i do not love the solid food that she tried to feed me the other day, however.  and in general, i'm just trying to maintain my status as the favorite while luke is going through the terrible two's and ben continues to try out different variations of a teenager's attitude so that i can secure mimsie and grandpa's woodcut.  :)  see this sweet face???
