pumpkin patch (and way too much burnt orange!)

*** warning: this post features gratuitous burnt orange clothing - again - augh!! ***

we went to a pumpkin patch a couple weekends ago and had a great time, so i wanted to share some pictures from that and let you know how the day went... first i played around in some hay tunnels with a few pumpkins around...

we took a hayride around the patch and had fun being pulled by the tractor (and being squeezed and kissed by mama, of course!)...

then the fun really began once we got to the big patch - i loved it!!! i tried to pick up nearly every pumpkin that i saw, but they were pretty heavy!

i also loved scooting in between each pumpkin to find the one that looked perfect to me...

and then i found the one! this was the pumpkin for me!
mama asked, "are you sure? is that really the one?" and i assured her, "yes, this one please."

turns out i couldn't pick that one up, though, and i wanted to be able to carry it myself, so i kept trying...

and then i finally found the perfect pumpkin for me - yahoo! :)

we also had pumpkin flavored ice cream, which was awesome and required some very serious eating...

and then we fed the goats! i loved that a lot - their tongues were slippery and a little slimy but it was really fun to have them eat from my hands...

then we took a hayride back to our car and remembered our fun day and first trip to the pumpkin patch...

back at home i like wearing hats, even though it's not nearly cold enough for a hat like this yet (not in texas, anyway!). mama still loves this hat and was so excited that it fit me (i wore it last year too) so she couldn't resist a picture...

i'm also gearing up to be a super big brother and am so sweet to my stuffed animals. here i am sharing some water with my little elephant...

incidentally, i love lemons and really love to eat them right out of the peel! have you ever heard of a kid doing such a thing - crazy huh!? well, it's not that crazy because apparently daddy loved to do this as a little boy too - isn't that funny? i learned that i liked them so much when i tried one at a restaurant. it was sour but so good and i definitely wanted more. now i like to eat them at home when they're around - yum!

here i am wearing daddy's shirt around one day - i think i'm such a big boy when i get to do that!! :) you may have noticed a decided overdose of UT clothes on me lately, and don't think that mama hasn't noticed too. she's trying to do something about this, but is having a hard time battling my pleas for "huns" (a.k.a. "horns"). perhaps a little purdue attire is in order - we'll see what we can do about that...

also, the other big excitement around here lately was the ice cream truck. it started coming once a week on tuesday evenings, and that was super cool! here are some pictures of our first experience - we actually get snow cones, not ice cream, because mama loves picking out lots of flavors to mix together (and also probably she knows that ice cream right before bed may not be the best idea on a regular basis, although we do get to do that occassionally when we go to our local ice cream shop, but in this case, the snow cones are the best!) anyway, i think its run in our neighborhood might be over, but i sure did look forward to listening for the music on tuesday nights... :)

i will end with a random picture of me looking oh so sweet, which a piece of green pepper dipped in dressing in my hair. i'm not usually one of those messy eaters because mama keeps a tight reign on that stuff and decided to just teach me to eat a little more cleanly instead, but for some reason i decided to stick this on my head and she thought it was funny and took a picture, and that's pretty much how our days go most of the time... life is good...

stay tuned next time for pictures of my playroom, which we just repainted and redecorated (already!) and more on the baby news! :) bye!
