one week to go?

well, there's just over one week until momma's due date for baby number two! obviously, everyone is hoping he looks just like me...

just kidding! :) mostly momma and daddy are just hoping he comes soon - we are ready! actually, i can't really say i'm all that concerned about it yet. mostly i've just kept to my usual business of being a toddler, but i'm sure to find out what all this baby stuff is about soon enough! in the meantime, i have picked up a new sport - baseball! i guess it's t-ball, technically, but you have to start somewhere... and so far, i love it! we've just been practicing a little bit in the back yard, but if any indiana teams need a back-up player, call me up to the big leagues and i'll be ready!

we also continue to enjoy the nice spring weather (which really hasn't been too hot yet, thankfully!). momma and i went on a walk the other day and gathered some nature-y things from outside and made a collage out of them! i really like to do crafts, but i get pretty frustrated with anything too complicated or that involves a toddler scissors or glue, so we stick to the easy stuff. i really had fun with this one, though, and have really gotten into drawing and coloring more too. one of these days momma might be brave enough to try finger-painting with me, but she's not so sure yet...

well, that's really all for now. i just wanted to post a quick update with a few pictures from the past week and give you a baby update, which is that there is no baby yet. but stay tuned and hopefully we'll have some news soon! :)

laundry room photo session...

i haven't been the best subject for pictures lately and momma is usually either too occupied by chasing me around or knows that if she gets out the camera she will have to chase me around... but she did manage to get an impromptu photo session in the laundry room the other day, so here are some shots from that...

and here is a sleepy one of me shortly after waking up the other day... i think i've mentioned before that i always like to have blankie's picture taken (and then like to immediately look at the picture and have mom take more), so that's what i'm doing here... i'd also like to apologize to any purdue fans out there (you know who you are) for yet another burnt orange shirt. i honestly do have purdue attire, but it just seems to work out that i more often have on my UT stuff in pictures. actually, momma has demoted most of my UT shirts to pajama-only status, so that's what happened here...
and here i am lounging with my remote (which remains a fascination to me even with the tv off), bib (because for some unknown reason i am drooling AGAIN, even though the dentist told momma i had all my teeth in already!), and sunglasses... life is good...
little bear wanted to get in a picture too...
well, enough of that... here's what's actually been going on lately... we saw some relatives on easter at a state park not too far away, and that was really fun. and then we saw some other relatives this weekend at uncle larry and aunt roxanne's house in giddings, which was also really fun! mom is not even being apologetic about no pictures of those events because there's just enough to deal with lately without lugging around a camera in the hopes of getting a couple shots of me doing something cute in between my usual behavior of acting my age (i.e. two), scowling at the camera while saying "no ma'am", and holding up whatever is in my hands for her to take pictures of instead. she's counting on me being camera-ready again once the baby comes and she's busy snapping shots of him instead. which, speaking of, the due date is now just two weeks away, and i think we're all getting very ready! hopefully we'll have some exciting news to report soon!! until then, i'll be talking up a storm (in complete sentences now, which is very exciting for mom and dad!), eating like a twelve year old, and enjoying this awesome spring weather. thanks for checking in - bye!!

spring is here again (finally!)...

i don't know what happened to global warming but it's actually been cold here again! we've had a few days so far of really nice, warm weather, but we've still been having really chilly days too and not much shorts-wearing... but, i know spring is here because 1) it's still light outside when mom makes me go to bed, and 2) we took our wagon to the park for a picnic lunch!

and i am starting to really like swinging on a big swing (both on my bottom and on my tummy!)...

here are a couple silly pictures of me in the car, which momma always likes to take (especially since she almost always rides in the back with me, at my request, although i guess that won't last long once the baby comes!)...

still sporting the blue sunglasses from TWO summers ago! :)

last week, uncle scott had a long layover in san antonio, so daddy played hookie from work and we got to hang out with him for the day! that was super fun, although i did wonder where aunt elaina, lauren, and taylor were...

we got to ride a bus around town a bit, which of course, i loved!

and here's a picture of me being very serious and somber while eating my first (tiny) bag of candy from a candy store in the mall. i got to help pick out a few favorite treats, which i thought was super cool (not that the picture would reflect that, however)...

and also last week on friday we went to the county fair! technically, it was the austin rodeo, but i have a book about the county fair that i like to read a lot, so that's what we called it. it was pretty fun! we went to a petting zoo, which i actually wasn't so sure about, and we got to watch a cow being milked! we saw quite a few animals and also ate a lot of yummy food! momma's favorite was a deep-fried pineapple (yes, she ate something deep fried, but she thought it wasn't too bad since it was a piece of fresh fruit, and she wants everyone to know that it was probably the best deep-fried anything she's ever eaten and you should definitely try one yourself if you are ever presented with the opportunity!). my favorite, however, was the ice cream truck!!! here i am making a bee-line for it (you might note that it's the exact same one that used to come by our house last fall, which i thought was totally cool)...

i also got to sit in a real digger - cool!

and here i am looking under a little bridge for a troll... (honestly, you never know where there might be one lurking, just like in the three billy goats gruff!)...

i also got to ride the carousel, which was definitely my favorite part! this was my second ride on one, and i really think these are cool!

back at home we've been enjoying time in the backyard and just hanging out as a little family. as you may know, daddy likes to golf, and i like to be just like daddy, so he bought me my own special, ben-sized golf club a few weeks ago (i forget if i've mentioned that in a blog yet or not). it is very special, and here i am practicing with daddy a few days ago...

i also like to make silly faces a lot, and here's one that i've been doing lately, where i kind of roll my eyes out to the side... maybe you have to see it in person, but mommy thinks it's pretty hilarious!

i keep talking a lot and am forming new phrases and sentences on my own now. i still have some stubborn streaks, which i would like to point out is clearly not my fault since i got two helpings of stubborn from my parents! but i get an occasional time-out now, and i usually learn my lesson.
i'm a very good eater and love the fresh fruit we're getting more of now. i love books, even though sometimes i only like to look at the pages instead of having momma read. i like to color with crayons, drink from water fountains, go on walks around the neighborhood, and dance. i don't like to ride in my stroller anymore, and i don't like to sit still in the waiting room at momma's doctor appointments. all in all, life is good. i'm not entirely sure about all this baby stuff, but i know mom's belly sure is big so something must be happening in there! i'm supposed to put some pictures up here of her, and i apologize for not really doing that this time, but i really will try to next time. thanks for stopping by!! :)
