my new toy...

well, college football season is right around the corner and so daddy thought it was time i start playing with a football to get into the spirit! so far i like it pretty well, but i may need to work on my grip...

daddy is already hoping that i might play football when i get older, but for now i'm pretty content just sitting around. plus mommy seems less enthusiastic about that unless i am a kicker or something. okay, maybe quarterback if i'm behind a great offensive line, but we'll have to see... :) maybe i'll be more like michael phelps because i am tall for my age with a really long torso. or maybe i'll just be a surgeon or a rocket scientist instead. it's hard to say really... i could also be a drummer in a band because i sure do like to bang on things. or maybe i'll just be cute for a living. that's worked pretty well for me so far... :)

things are good around here. we're getting my playroom all set up and will be painting this weekend. i think i'll have a lot of fun with that! and mommy bought some neat new toys for me - like a tunnel i can crawl through and a tent shaped like a shark! she sure is glad she had a boy (first) - boys are fun to play with! i'll try to put up some pictures next week after we get the room done. but for now, it's back to being cute... bye!

hello again! sorry i haven't written in a while - i had writer's block! things have been going great, though. i'm still waiting for those two front teeth to come in, and so in the meantime i'm slobbering all over everything (mostly myself) and chewing on anything i can get my hands on.

i'm still having fun standing up and but i'm not crawling yet. i get pretty frustrated on my tummy and i would rather just sit up or stand up instead. here's me playing on my drum. if you look close you can see my fangs!

i've also been having fun in my swing. it's almost too small for me, but i like to sit in it and drop my toys on the ground, and then try and reach for them so that i can drop them again. it's a lot of fun! i don't really understand gravity yet and haven't quite figured out that if my toys fall, i can fall too. luckily mommy buckles me in, though, or else i would have had my first trip to the ER already. i love to lean forward and have no fear yet!

okay, that's all for now. i better go keep mommy company... :)

p.s. if you were nervous about how close i was to the edge of the bed in those first pictures, don't be. mommy was right there. :) plus, i'm a boy. i'm going to end up in the ER eventually...

standing up?!?

hi! is it wednesday already? my, how i lose track of the time... we had a great weekend seeing lots of cousins from daddy's family. people are fun! there are 3 other babies like me, plus one girl a couple years older. then a couple other kids i'm not really related to but that were really neat also. we had a lot of fun playing together. they like to eat things and roll over just like me! and i actually got so worn out playing that i had to take a nap right there in the swing!

now we're back at home again and i'm standing up now! well, maybe not officially standing up like you may think, but i can lean on things and keep my balance for a few seconds before falling over and laughing! it's a lot of fun. i really like to try out new things like that, and so i just crack up laughing the whole time while i'm doing it. and even though daddy doesn't necessarily look it, he was very impressed to. i think i amazed him so much that he turned into a statue. we're always having fun like that... :)

eating food has turned out to be really good. i like pretty much anything so far and am not really too messy. just the normal stuff like smearing food on my face and in my hair. :) other than that, i have two more teeth that are coming in, so that's keeping me busy. and if you notice that i don't usually have clothes on in these pictures, it's because it's 9,000 degrees here and i would combust.
